I just bought a 2010 sight unseen. I know the Passanger headlight is broken so I will need a new one but I don't know if it's HID or halogen. How can I look this up? The car will be here in a week and I'd like to order the part now so I'll have it ready to install when the car arrives.
2010? Most likely halogen. HIDs were not available on the 2010. LED headlights were available and only on the 2010 V model (the one with the 17" alloys. If you have headlight washers, you have LED headlights.
Looks like LED low beams and halogen high beams to me. The "12V 65W" bulb listed is the high beam bulb - single filiment. The first LED headlamps were done this way. The GIV ones use one LED and a "shutter" to get the low/high. I'd say they are "LED". Just hope they don't burn out. For halogen the bulb is around $10, for LED the replacement is well over $250 from what I hear.
lol. I didn't even read the attachment. Yes, David's right. You have the the LED headlights (For 2010, the low beams are LEDs but the high beams are halogens)
LED Headlights Halogen Headlight some headlights may varies, but this is a general idea of what an Gen 3 (2010-2015) Prius headlight looks like. I hope this helps, dont get me wrong but you can install LED or HID into a halogen headlight. Toyota's website for vehicle specification: Vehicle Specification | Toyota Owners
