Looking for oil filters that are longer bodied than the stock. At the last meet up, SFO said there are some alternative with longer body because my $4.99 oil filter remover cap kept sliding off even with ribs in the cap groove. Can anymore recommend a few? I'm familiar w/the oil pressure difference, just don't use cheap engine oil and you'll be OK, no worries just do 5K OCIs & save money, if it ain't broke don't it sayings
If you were to find a longer oil filter you would have to also find a longer oil filter housing. On the GII you could install a longer oil filter, but it's not that easy on the GIII.
I'm using the stamped steel Honda filter socket, it's the same size, nothing fancy, never any problems. I am using a sweet 1/2" wrench (Jet), 1/2" drive swivel head, somewhere around 18" handle length. And it's always been me torquing it, no idiot with an impact driver.
