Hey gents, I know this is technically for 2017 primes but I didn't see something similar for the 2018. I don't own a Prius, and have never owned a Prius, but I'm in the market for a new car and after a bunch of researched got pretty stoked about the Prime. I'm not really sure what prices are normal for these, so I was wondering if I got my dealership down to a good number or not. Specs are:

    2018 Prime Advanced
    Magnetic Grey Metallic
    Add-ons are:
    Connectivity Kit
    Prem. Carpet
    Prem. Security System
    P2 Protection Package
    Tinted Windows
Then all the "add-ons" that all of them have

    MSRP: $35057
    Price: $33304

This is in Texas, so there are (obviously) no state incentives. I'm already working with the dealer to buy the Prime, but I was wondering if I'm really getting a good deal or not.
If anyone wants to give me their two cents I'd appreciate it.

    Hey guys,
I'm planning to fly out to to NJ to buy a 2017 Prime Advanced.

    MSRP: $34,000
Final Sale price: $27,000 (that's with the Toyota $4000 incentive).
    So basically I pay $27,000 +texas tax (6.25%) + title/license fees.

How is the deal? Thanks for your input. Also, the sale person said I will pay Texas tax there and they'll submit everything and will mail me the title (I will pay off the car right away). I thought I drive it back & register and pay tax in Texas...but not sure how it works since this is the first time buying outside of state.

Which dealer are you getting the deal from? Today I went to MD which the quoted $6700 discount on a Premium. But when I get there, they start adding all kinds of odd charges, even a Delivery charge on the MSRP that is already included. I simply walk away. Beware.

I don't think MSRP $28529 is for a Premium, this is the MSRP for a Plus with options like edge guard and upgraded color?? MSRP for a Premium with destination $895 + carpet package is around $30008.

It was from Dayton Toyota. ..but prices are very competitive up from that region so any dealership there can do it I think.
If I accept the deal and fly there, I’ll make sure all numbers are straight and final & car (with vin) are reserved. Thanks for the heads up.

When I bought in NY (cash deal), the NY dealer collected CO sales tax and registration fees and sent me tags/registration card in the mail

Well the $27k is what I proposed (they want 28k). They shot down my offer. I guess the search is on then :)

I think they were just trying to play hardball. I was going to agree with $28k if they would throw in the carpet set. They won’t....so I moved on.

Got another offer from another from another dealership closer to Newark/liberty airport which is better for me at $27,430....good enough. Waiting for paperwork to finalize & flyout to pick it up in a couple weeks.

If you mean the $1,100 from the New York City, only residents in New York can get it.

And we have decent (not what should be OUTSTANDING !) sales in Southern California, despite the lack of ANY advertising for the Prime. How are people discovering this fantastic car!! And on top of that most of the folks driving Primes I've encountered on the street, are DEFINITELY NOT car nuts!! Or maybe they just think I'm nuts when I wave or flash my lights!
