Hello PriusChat!! After looking for weeks (and wishing it for years) I'm really happy to finally be part of the Prius tribe. We (gf and I) got a Nautical Blue 2013 Prius Three with 70,000 miles It's been a two weeks already and we LOVE IT! We couldn't be happier!! However, there are a few questions that I have for you guys: • Even though the car drives and feels great , if the car is on and parked (P) or on D while pressing the brakes, if I turn the steering wheel to the left of to the right, a very subtle "buzz" is audible. Is this noise normal too? In this video I recorded you can hear it. The car does not do any other noise when turning when the car is moving or at low speeds. The only thing you listen standing outside the car its the tires turning. • Speaking of noises, is there a video or a guide I could use to determine which ones are normal and which ones aren't? So far I have identified a turbine noise sometimes when staring the car that goes away after a min or so, a very subtle braking noise (doesn't sound like the brakes are wrong or something, it's more like a buzz sound) and a few other more, I've read quite a bit about the noises but just want to make sure what's normal and what's not hehe. • I'm thinking about installing some led headlights. Any recommendations? • I have some chips on the hood. I've read that prius paint is weak. I'm thinking about getting a touch up paint pen. Any experience with those? • and last but not least, any useful tips, info, recalls, etc I should be aware of for this year/model? Sorry for all the newbie questions!! I will really appreciate some answers from all of you thanks in advance!! Ps: our baby Ps2: yup, got rid already of the hubcaps, got the center caps and painted them black
congrats and welcome! sorry i can't answer any of your questions, but the noises all sound normal. looks like you got a keeper, all the best!
Had an 11 Prius and although I didn't do it, a louder horn would be the first I would recommend. Lots of old posts on improving the horn.
Cong , you can check if it had a recall on toyota site. https://www.google.jo/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.toyota.com/recall&ved=2ahUKEwjgxq62k_vZAhVDC-wKHfq-CiAQFjAAegQICRAB&usg=AOvVaw3Kmhw3a_2UDkOhCKXVMTCD Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Actually, since they are in the US, they can go to the Toyota Owners site & register their VIN. They can see all the dealer service performed in addition to recall information.
