A quick summary from a European Prius Prime owner after 6 months of use. You can get the solar roof option at the expense of losing the Heads Up display, you cannot have both. I'm already on my third windscreen as the slightest stone chip damage will result in catastrophic failure especially if the point of impact is on the corners, it appears that there is an inherent problem with the design. Also after the last firmware update that improved an already excellent road sign recognition system, the GPS stopped working, only to display a greenish terrain picture with no detail. This resulted in a replacement Touch 2 Go headend, thankfully covered under the excellent warranty. Also the DAB presets come and go and only return when you make a call, so some sort of screen refresh bug going on there. MirrorLink, which is supposed to duplicate the phone's display when running certain apps, has never worked and despite it being in the instruction manual, has quietly been dropped. We don't have Entune here and the Prime still has connection problems when attempting to go online using the bluetooth connection on a Samsung Galaxy S8+. Album art works great and the system will even play HiRes audio files from a USB device. In saying that, it's the best car I've ever had and my local Toyota dealer here in Norway has provided first class service and is committed to squashing all of the bugs. Just passed the 10,000 Km milestone and still on the second tank of gas thanks to the many free charging points scattered around. So yes, a few small hiccups along the way but it's an amazing car which is always a pleasure to drive.
Ask nicely and your dealer will activate the remote windows up/down function and remote heating/cooling control in your key fob as these functions are not initially available for some reason!
I went to my local Toyota Dealer a few weeks ago to ask when I could order one and he said second week of January 2018 and expect it to take 75 days to get it.
January 2018 is almost over, and Toyota still shows 2017 Prius Prime.... Are they working on some changes for 2018 and delayed?
General conclusion from this forum is that they are just going to keep building the 2017 model for another year.
What would drive me nuts, would be if they added 5 or more miles ev range. That would leave me trying to extrapolate my next purchase in the years to come.

Weird. The 2018 is up in Canada. https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/vehicles/prius-prime/overview I also noted that the models are different from the press release. Instead of "base" and "Technology" trim levels with an Upgrade Package, it's now listed as "base" and "Upgrade" with a Technology Package on the "Upgrade" model

I did a side by side of the 2017 and 2018 brochures. They actually changed about 3 of the photos. I didn't see any other real changes in the brochures, so I'm guessing there are no real changes to the vehicle either.
Should be a carry over model. The Premium went up by $100 but the other two trim levels look to be the same.
I have a friend in St. Joseph, Mo who just sent me a text pic of his new 2018 blue Prime. So 2018s are in the fly over states. (That blue is a sharp looking color).
Main change is the app support: The Intune software for 2018 models is better. BUT why? Toyota didn't rebuild the dash software or any other sort of "heavy lifting" from the looks of it. Why disown your 2017 customers? Either way, no other changes reported.
