Hello my fellow Primers! New here But i want to show everyone my build progress on my Prius I orignally had the wheels autodipped glossy black.. it wasnt holding up too long maybe about half a year? So then i went the full mile to look for wheels and such but they wernt light... so i decided to stick to the orginials and Power coat them Glossy black (wet look coating) The wet look coating makes them ultra shiny and looks like their wet. Kinda like a "wet Tire" look! Hope you guys and gals dig it! ill post HD pics soon but heres the phone ones First Image: Plasti Dip Wheels. Second Image: Power Coated Wheels. fresh from the oven. If you do get them power coated here are some tips! (Learned these the hard way) 1. Make sure you know someone who can take off the tire sensors. 2. Take off the wheel weights. 3. Once you power coat them and install the Tire Seneors they dont have to be in a particular oreder from wheel. So you dont have to worry about which tire sensor went to which wheel (PHEW) overall they just function as low air pressure sensor in general so thank goodness saves you a dealer trip. 3a. Make sure the tire place you go to can also install tire weights. 4. When you do install the tires air them to 30 PSI. (BEWARE) If you don't youll get a check engine and low tire pressure!! after 5mins set it to 40 PSI~ (depending on your tire brand and recommended tire pressure on them)
FYI, it's powder coat, not power coat. An electrostatically charged powder is deposited on the item and baked/heat cured to form a durable finish. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
