Sorry, typo in my spec (bold text above), it should read SAE-30R7. This was black, fuel line hose, that came with my OCC, fwiw:

I'm thinking that the 'home depot' braided tubing that may are using will be easier to 'collapse' under vacuum the warmer it gets.

I'm thinking vacuum rated tubing is the way to go here. However, what that is I have no idea.

I think I will wait a bit to install my OCC until the gurus have this one figured out. (y)

    Edit: So something like this?

^ That stuff is the same (SAE-30R7) spec. I recall reading a few forums, SAE-30R6 would also be ok.

The stuff I linked from Princess Auto (a few posts back) I think I just googled "fuel line" and also checked for that spec.

I figure if Moroso supplied that spec, it's the way to go.

On the spec sheet, it shows a vacuum spec of "24". I assume that's water column inches?

FWIW, I have some old washer water supply hoses, their cross-section looks identical to the SAE-30R7 leftover I have. Could be it's not oil-resistant though?

While we're on the subject of hoses, here's a pic of the cross sections of the Ruien supplied hose and the braided one from Home Depot. There's a big difference in look and feel. Can't pinch the braided one.

so my tap's shank is GIGANTIC. and my tap wrench is way too small.

the tap fits reasonably well in a 11/16 socket, or I could use an adjustable wrench.

    thoughts?

That's the same stuff I collect in my can. Imagine having a continuous flow of that going into the upper cylinders.

Just finished installing a catch can in my now 2014 with 22K on the odometer. This is my second Prius since I had to let my 2010 with 206000 on her go. I didn't want to mess up this engine so I'm saving her as soon as I can. Glad I opened the TB today. This is a great thread. Thanks to everyone. Pics are of the location of the catch can on the passenger side. The rags used to soak up the oil that was in the last pic of the TB.

I was scratching my head at first, wondering why this obvious mounting place wasn't used more, until I noticed the air intake is removed. It works though. What difference would that make, just a throatier intake sound?

2010 Prius IV, gray solar roof option, bought with 127,+++ on it. Using oil at least a quart every 4,000-5,000 miles. Losing sleep on it because thinking i bought a headache. My 2012 civic with 217,+++ miles, does not use oil. Changing PCV was my hope that it will change the oil use. Improvement of

Recently watch a video cleaning the manifold, it started my interest changing PCV and since I planning to put an OCC since I will be taking the manifold off.

I will be planning next to relocate it under the engine with a different catch can. Just need to plan still where to screw it and plan a drain process without removing under panel. This will be my temporary setup. How long, depends.

I used a air water separator from harborfreight, drilled holes on the brass filter and blasted compressed air on the brass fitting to make sure no brass shavings.

Just a thought, i wonder if it is by design that there is oil on at the bottom of the intake manifold to act as additional air filter. Cause i remember the old air cooled beetle, air filter filled with oil.

I do the same thing. It's still quiet as a mouse.

Michigan doesn't have emission inspections so it's Ok.

I just removed the excess. I did this with my last Prius for the extra space and cleaner look. The Prius sounds no different and allows for a less restricted air flow.
