Unfortunately, the original Fred's H.O.P. closed down a few years ago. The loss of that important forum left a big hole in our miscellaneous posting habits for a while. The gross margins on threads and posts in FHOP gradually diminished over the last decade, which squeezed the profits forcing the business model to be reevaluated. The BOD tried to contract new electrons from far cheaper sources, but the ancillary costs of running it following the huge 80% workforce layoff was greater than expected. The slightly higher costs of outsourcing the management nickled and dimed the previous owners so much the only option was to cut the bleeding completely and close up shop. We were devastated!

Some few months later, a foreign billionaire came to the rescue with a completely different business model, re-opened FHOP. Prius Chatters were ecstatic upon the return of FHOP! And here we are today.
