I have driven my prius everywhere. Even lived in it for a year and a half. I have taken great care of this car, and now its beginning to show its age, when i need it least and have the least amount of time and funds to deal with it. I have turned to the personages of priuschat to guide me through the maze. lol.
Replaced upstream and downstream 02 and fuel/air sensors. now the gas engine wont start. fuel gauge flashes one block then full...continues to flash. dash is lit up like a christmas tree. checked diagnostics, upon attempted start the 12v battery is showing 11.9v. charged 12v battery, and put back in. master reset. all other resets attempted. tried to jump with battery pack. nothing doing. replace 12v battery or add gas? those are the only things i haven't tried.
Charge or replace your 12V battery. I'm leaning towards maybe you left the doors or hatch open, and that might have drainrd the battery. Weak or failing batteries would definitely show all kind of lights in the dash. For the flashing fuel gauge block, if its only the reserve block that's flashing, you need more gasoline in the tank. If you don't, and you keep driving it that way, you might damage the fuel pump, or when the car stalls, your HV battery, could be discharged, as you try READYING the car. From looking at the miles on that car, I pray the other lights aren't related to the battery pack though? But just try replacing the 12V battery, and getting more gasoline. That should fix the problem. Dxta
Replaced the 12v battery, No Dice. I'll try the gas add tomorrow. if not....i guess i'll have to shoot her.
Replaced upstream/downstream sensors, now gas engine won't start. | PriusChat the situation has progressed
I replaced the 12v battery, looked good at first, got into ready mode at least, then same stuff as before. Ready mode flickers, Voltage reading on the new battery is same as the old battery about 11.9 v at start. No gasoline as yet, considering nothing else has changed. unless the bladder is empty and thats the whole issue from being on jackstands for 10 hours? But still no shifting into D or R. only N. I guess checking all fuses and adding gas will be next.
The voltage reading is 11....volts as the former, you got to replace that battery, or charge em up. That voltage is low. New batteries have got issues too. Finally, REPLACE THAT BATTERY, AND GET SOME GAS!
Both Batteries, both the old one and the newly purchased one read the same, this leads me to start thinking about voltage leak from some other source. Going to start walking to the gas station now.
As I said, I already replaced the 12V battery. The fact that its reading the exact same voltage as the old battery lead me to believe that there's some other issue drawing power. first start attempt the thing read 14.3v, then directly after the voltage dropped under NO LOAD to 11.9 again. seems that the problem doesn't lie with the battery.
The only codes at first were O2 sensor codes, I will have a device to check any new codes in hand in an hour, however, the onboard diagnostics all are reading blue. I cleared codes after install and have 're-checked' all 3 categories are blue.
Only Codes that are showing now are $7EA and $7EB another Priuschat thread has them as ECM and Transmission control. This makes sense as these two items are not functioning properly. However, all was well before the installation of the GD o2 sensors. I wonder if this code may be Misleading .
