I started this thread in order to begin compiling all the great memories, learned tricks and friends made in this past weekend in Madison, Wisconsin, sharing my experience in this looong type of marathon trip, over 1000 miles in each direction. in a FAST pace. Pictures, yes Pictures!! And I could kick myself for not looking over your car with the Can-view and other mods you did . And I would like to know who else from Priuschat was at Hybridfest besides you and yours, myself (with family in tow), Hobbit, Tony P and Drifter. I also left a PM for ericbeckey to give us some stats on the different events and attendance. My thoughts will be posted a little later. Wayne

Thanks for sharing! I'm glad you had a fun trip. The placement of the hummer picture really cracks me up.
Here are some of my pictures.... What a fantastic event! How did people do on the MPG challenge? I got about 62mpg, with A/C on.
cool pics! wish we could have made it, but the timing was ever so slightly off looks like a lot of fun in good ol' wisconsin. (home for us) and that can't be beat!
Hey! There's a picture of Priapus (fourth up from the bottom on the left side). I spent the day with the hatch open and the seats folded, except the driver's. You'd be amazed how mipressed poeple were with the room inside. There was even one guy who talked about hauling stuff and had a tape measure on his belt. He measured everything and each time gave out a satisfied grunt. I told him that Hobbit was telling me about moving equipment for theater and I think he went over and talked with him.
Looks like you guys had an AWESOME time! Wish I could have been there & soaked up all the knowledge that I know must have been flying around. Unfortunately (although we also had TONS of fun), I was partying at Rockfest up in Cadott, WI w/ husband & bunch of friends while this was going on...Had to tow our camper up there from Madison @ approx. 9 mpg with our big 'ol truck :-( Oh - if only the Prius could tow - we'd get rid of that truck in a heartbeat!!
Eric just posted the MPG Challenge numbers at MPG Results. I came in 8th out of 14 for the Prius, 13th out of 24 overall-how average. Wayne
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FireEngineer @ Jul 27 2006, 11:54 AM) </div> Congratullations to you Wayne, it show that you have a well trained driving technic and an steady foot B) Unfortunatelly I didn't participate in the MPG challenge. Hobbit is doing a write-up on his return to MA with an average of 70 mpg. Amaizing !!!
Yikes, I got dead last for the MPG challenge in a Prius . I'm pretty surprised... but I figured more people were going to run it. Though I did have A/C on, and I tied for the fastest time. Oh well.
I was there for a short time and enjoyed it. My 8-year-old son wanted to ride the fair rides, so I mostly chatted with my friend Ted at the UW display, and dashed through the rest of the displays. Our '06 was on the other side of the fairgrounds near our friend's horse trailer, providing errand support. I enjoyed seeing the nice black wheels on the Indiana Prius. I was surprised by the size of the batteries in the plug-in Prius mods. Great job everyone! ///d@
Looks like I just missed this event and I live here! Too bad. Don't have a Prius yet, but have started the search. My daily driver does get 38 mpg...a 2005 Honda Goldwing! Is or was this a first year event and will it be held here again next year or will it move somewhere else? Mike
Mike - this was the first year (I missed it too, unfortunately). It was organized mainly by the Madison Hybrid Group (correct me if I'm wrong, guys!) - here is their website: http://madisonhybridgroup.com/ I think they're hoping to make it an annual event depending how they felt this year turned out, but that would be a good question to ask on their website.
