Sorry if this is posted in the wrong thread

So I just picked up stock black wheels for $150 (for four) and am excited to put them on. They are in pretty good shape, a little rash here and there but nothing significant. Same with the impact gun chips around the lug holes. They are also a bit "dull" for lack of a better word.

    My two questions are:

    1. Is there any way to touch up the rash without making it look worse?

    2. Is there any way to polish up the black to bring them back to life? Any products you recommend?

I use Wolfgang products on my wheels and tires (wheel/tire cleaner and tire shine). Haven't gotten to us them yet on these wheels so I don't know if that's enough to revitalize them.

    Thanks in advance

The easiest way to fix those issues without sanding and respraying them would be black plastidip. You can do this while they're on the car, but since you have them off you can take your time and get great coverage. 3 cans of black would be more than enough, with one can of glossifier if you like a reflective finish.

The finish will last as long as you want it to, and you can remove it at any time. I've had it on Miata stock wheels for 3 years and just peeled it off when I was ready. I've also done a few full cars, its great stuff.

    Hi guys
I’ve found a pair of 2010-11 OEM LED headlights available at a junkyard in Northern CA. They ask for $600 for both headlights.
Any recommendations on getting parts from junkyard?
Also, any pros and cons on getting the 10-11 set instead of the 12-15?
    Thanks guys

I think that’s a decent price if complete and no damage. Mainly personal preference between the 2 designs. Some like how the high beam is a matching circle on the early model opposed to the square high beam on the later. Some also prefer the LED eyebrow parking light instead of the single led bulb style. I prefer the later model personally... and the early design might look out of place on a 2012+ front end.
Pretty sure it’s halogen for that price.

I’ll go check the lights’ condition this weekend.
I like that eyebrow design as well lol
If I do get the older pairs, maybe I’ll just cover the eyebrow section up lmao

Installed hertz hsk components w/ tweeters speakers in front.

Custom 6x9 to 6.5 adapter. Sound deadening done to both doors.

Need to add to amp to these asap. Way under powering these things with the head unit only 20180306_135133.jpg 20180306_155008.jpg

The second test, all standard functions are available, in addition there is now a parking light.

    in this video:
    Ignition on:
    Signal left
    Hazard
    Signal right

    Ignition off:
    Parkinglight left
    Hazard
    Parkinglight right

Last, parkinglight left and hazard at the same time, hazard is ever the important light

The last hardware part come tomorrow, i hope. Then, at the weekend, my girlfriend and i can make the hardware complete. I think i can test it at sunday in the prius.

I haven’t posted in a while, so recapping some things:

Installed an OPTIMA Yellow Top battery.

    IMG_6161.JPG

Hooked up an OPTIMA battery charger. We sometimes go a couple of weeks without driving. The Prius is a low mileage car with 22,000 miles for a 2014 year model.

    IMG_6349.JPG

    Cleaned the engine bay.

    IMG_6362.JPG

Anyone know what type of clip is used for the inverter cover? I seem to have misplaced mine.
