Hi Guys, I live in an apartment, so I cannot charge my Prime Advanced. I have noticed that the remote climate control from Entune app doesn't work when there is no charge. Am I doing something wrong. Why remote climate is linked with battery charge. I would be happy to burn some gas just to get a warm car.
Use charge mode the day before. then when you wake up the next morning you'll have some EV charge left to use your remote climate
They don't want you to use the motor for remote climate because of most people having the car in the garage. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
You are doing nothing wrong, pre-conditioning only works with charge in the traction battery. I would do as @priuscatprimeguy says and use CHARGE mode on your way home if you want morning heat. You only need to put it in CHARGE mode (press the EV/HV button for 3 seconds) for about 5 minutes to get about 5 miles of EV. Enough to turn on the pre-heat but not enough to kill your MPG. Unsupervised!
Goid to note that it is by design and there is nothing wrong. I will make sure to leave some charge for heat next day
