I wonder what would've happened if this was a Gen 3 Prius, with the emergency brake being a foot pedal, in addition to the joystick shifter. Imagine someone carjacking you, but you manage to turn off the Prius, or at least engage the e-brake, and the thief isn't familiar with how to deactivate it. Of course, that's assuming that someone would carjack a prius in the first place
