The automatic way of posting a link here was leading to pages of garbage text being added to Jalopnik links. Guess someone turned it off after cleaning it up the Xth time.

Yes, that is the manual way of posting a link. That is the only way to post links in other forums I'm on. Priuschat has an automated link posting feature in which any web address typed into the comment gets automatically converted to a hyperlink. I was thinking that the automated way might have been turned off for Jalopnik addresses because of the garbage text issue.
