If you thought the Gen 4 styling was not to your liking, look at this. It's a Honda Clarity. I saw one of these in Sacramento today and I have to say this is the most ugly car on the road. Just look at that rear door and fender skirt. And the front fender! I think I am going to be sick.

They tried to make it look futuristic but it ended up looking really bad. Too many lines goes all over the place.

No uglier than many other Toyota models (like the latest Prius V's), and ALL Lexus vehicles since 2013, with their large open maw of a front grille. But I do agree with you on the looks of the Clarity. Not good.

The Gen4 Prii turned me off completely, so I waited and bought a Prime instead. And I still don't like the looks of the Prime.

They've combined the "pigtails too tight" look in the front with the "load in its pants" look in the back.

It makes the old Edsel look beautiful in comparison.

That thing is hideous. Its easier for me to understand why some people don't like the Gen 4, but I can't imagine anyone thinking the Honda looks good. A face only a mother could love (Honda)?

When I saw the way the rear wheel wells are made I thought Honda Insight.

Thats funny, I thought the same exact thing too. I wonder how much they exactly save fuel wise over the life of the vehicle. It must be worth it otherwise why do it.

The rear skirt is for aerodynamics, similar to the original Insight although not quite as extensive.

The Clarity design also creates air curtains over all four wheels to smooth the airflow, which is accomplished via air channels in the body. The intake for the front wheel air curtain is behind the front bumper. The intake for the rear wheel air curtain is visible just in front of the rear wheel well.

Looks like some sort of alien shuttle. The overhang on the front wheels is a bit much, is the motor in front of the axle ?

This is funny. You do know, don't you, that not everyone shares your idea of automotive "beauty"? I do somewhat, but not totally.

Beauty, as always, is in the eye of the beholder. ;)

I think they could extend the lower parts of the bumper a bit and use it for a fork lift. o_O

I really like the style of the gen 4 Prius. It's unique just like the other models have been. Not sure how it will look in 10 years, but right now it's very cool.

Except the Fiat Mulipla. Everyone agrees on ugly.

The Clarity certainly is ugly...looks like an amateur hack-up of an Accord.

This sure should take some pressure off of Toyota!

The same body design is used for all three versions of the Clarity; EV, FCEV and PHEV. In the FCEV the fuel cell stack is located under the hood along with the electric motor, unlike the Mirai where it is located underneath the passenger cabin, so that may have an effect on the front end design.

Nah the Gen 4 is not the ugliest - that goes to the Prime. Seriously the rear end looks like weird lips and the front clear finish on the bumper looks like crap instantly.
