I own a 2nd gen, bought on offerup another silver logo keyfob, but realized it is 3rd gen key fob. Anyone have a 2nd gen key fob to trade for 3rd gen key fob?
Used - but have a locksmith here that procrams tanscoders and such, he is up to the challenge; I'd say, go for it lol
If you look for the sellers on eBay who offer re-virginized used fobs, you'll also find some who will virginize a used fob that you send them; the going rate seems to be about $20. -Chap
That would be awesome. So, once virginized - can the keyfob once returned, be chicken danced into programming with the car?
Your profile mentions a Gen 2, but I think this thread has always been about Gen 3 fobs. Yes, a revirginized Gen 3 used fob can be registered to a car. I am not aware of a chicken dance for it in Gen 3, but it's straightforward with Techstream. -Chap
