The local news tonight said that it was loaded with Mazdas.

Very large pictures and video below:

Keep an eye on http://www.uscgalaska.com for updates

I've done some research, and although the reports say the vessel was enroute to Vancouver, it is also listed as bound for the port of Tacoma, Washington on 7/29. Other press releases have said the vessel transports Toyotas, among other manufacturers. So it is quite likely some of our orders will be even further delayed. Lets hope that is the only inconvenience, and the crew and rescuers return home safely.

By the way, if you look at the second picture, the orange specs on deck are the crew members in their survival suits. And those are the life rafts 100' below them, underneath the ship. No way they'll want to jump into that water. The preferred option would be to lower rescue baskets to the crew on deck, but is there enough clearance? I'm not even certain the Pavelow blackhawks used by the Alaska National Guard have baskets. But they have sent two along with a C-130 to refuel them, which I dont think the CG versions are capable of.

The evening news just reported that so far most of the crew have been lifted from the ship and are enroute to Adak island, where they will be treated at the village clinic awaiting transport to Anchorage. One crewmember has a broken leg.

**update** All crewmembers have been rescued, according to the Alaska Air National Guard.

That's very odd....every time I've gone to their site in the past, I've seen the North America Routes .pdf in their shipping schedule.

reported in the news here that the main load is Mazda's. Her normal port of call is about 1 mile upstream form where I work and I've see her in the river going and coming.
Edit: good to hear the crew was all rescued.

Looks like they're nearly all Mazdas. The ship is still floating, but one wonders how many of the cars have remained tied down with a 60 degree list.

Just glad the ship's crew is safe. Forget about the cars.
