I had been scratching my head about why my HUD was not showing the hybrid indicator and electric miles remaining. Here's the FYI part: The HUD button (lower left of the steering wheel) is a 3-way toggle, Off, speed only, and speed and hybrid indicator. I had inadvertently turned it off, and when I turned it back on, I only had the speed indicator, and wanted the miles remaining. Had to study the manual to find it. Hope this saves someone the frustration I experienced.
A little tip for that. If you want to change the HUD settings (brightness and vertical position), push the button and the settings display will pop-up. I push it three times to get back where I was and then adjust my settings.
I find the hybrid indicator in the HUD to be clutter. I want to see things in the HUD that improve my driving safety. The whole multifunction display is an example of clutter in my opinion. I'd like a conventional instrument panel layout, speedometer centered behind the wheel, etc., with a few unique displays elsewhere. Nav info in the HUD is good. Cruise control info would be good.
Thanks for the usage tips! The learning curve is long with the Advanced trim. Someday, this stuff will be built-in to my Oakleys.
I’m in Florida for several days and driving a rental car. I miss my HUD! I hadn’t realized how much I’d come to rely on it.
