Well, I had the recall fuse issue taken care of 3 days ago on my 2012 Prius Plugin, now all of a sudden the number of miles I get per charge went up...Wow!! Is this real?? Now getting 18.1 miles...REALLY. Anyone else out there having the same experience?

I suspect the fuse replacement procedure just re-set the mileage estimation. Drive through a few charge-discharge cycles on your usual routes and it will probably go back to what it was.

My predicted miles went down as did my actual. But we've had some much cooler than normal weather at the same time. Actual miles are rising again now with the temperatures and the predicted is following along a day or so behind the actual.
BTW, I got my recall notification in the mail the other day. LOL!!!

YES! Mine was at the dealer getting the recall fuse taken care of along with an oil change. Just charged Suzie up :) for the first time since the visit.....now all the sudden I'm show 12+ EV miles in the tank vs 8.7 (or so) before.
Is there a phantom "reset button" we don't know about, or did they just disconnect the traction battery in the process of fuse replacement?

    welcome!
disconnecting the 12v resets it to factory default.

Correct. My guess is that my dealer used a memory saver because I didn't lose my range estimate or any radio stations or other custom settings. I'm sure they disconnect the 12V battery to do the job, but if they are nice, they'll spend a couple dollars on a memory saving device.

Had mine done today. The dealer told me that Toyota screwed up and that there are actually several fuses and they weren't sure that they had the correct one (turns out they did). There are not many PHEVs in my area so mine was the first they had done.

They also said Toyota's instructions made them take several unnecessary parts off; consequently it took about 2 3/4 hours instead of the 1.1 they were paid for...they weren't happy with that! The tech said the fuse requires them to take apart the EV battery to some extent.

Keep in mind, you will lose all you data as regards to total miles driven EV vs Gas and your EV range will reset; mine went to 14. Had to reset the "calendar" as well. Took me a while to figure it out. The radio stations were OK and my map settings were unaffected, thankfully!

Just got mine done today. Said they had to pull the back seat out and a ton of other items in the back. They had the car for 3.5 hrs. Also, not many of plug-ins here so this was their first. I had to wait a few days for the parts to come in too when I called them last week.

Those tech's will get faster at the job the more they do, they will beat the flat rate book.

I wonder what is different, on a regular Prius the fuse is in that orange plug and it would be easy to get to. It doesn't happen very often but I hate it when someone works on my car and I am left in the dark.

Synergy was taken in Toyota of El Cajon, They gave me great customer service and even gave me a free rental. My Lady is back in my hands and I did notice a jump in Electric Mileage, but nothing outrageous. I think I went from 9.something to 10.9. All in all a great experience.

how can having to take time out of your days to drop off and pick up your car, with no compensation be described as a 'great experience'?(n)
