I purchased an premium, and realize it does not have the retractable cargo cover, something that I think I would use. I am curious what the advanced looks like- anyone willing to post a picture of theirs? Anyone not use theirs and would want to sell it?

Whenever I look a picture of a Prius Prime's trunk, I always can't stop myself from wishing I could just push-in that extra layer of batteries to make them stick out less form the bottom of the trunk.... it's a little annoying! I wish Toyota did the design better as it's obvious that there is something off about the trunk and some non-ideal compromises were made...

no question, the compromise is tgna. they could have done it with the pips solid rear axle, but they listened to the 'focus groups' who told them it had to be sportier, like the volt.

    That and the "range" faction.

Frankly, I think they were spot on to cater to the range faction - their first attempt, at 11 baby miles per charge, was ludicrous. They need to really re-think the overall design to push it to 40 miles - that would be a commuter's dream, with some in between errand running. And PLEASE don't hit it any more with the ugly stick!

Go for it! plenty of discounts on the 2017 models, before the 2018 models (unchanged) hit the showrooms...

I have an advanced and the cargo cover is less substantial than the 2017 Prius I had. It is considerably flimsier, like they asked junior high students to engineer it, but itdoes work. It flops down, is not substantial enough to stay parallel with the seat back.

No, I was stating I was interested in buying a retractable cover, which is where this thread started out in the first place.

I have a prime premium and I ordered it from toyotapartspeople.com. I removed the things for the folding one that came with it (never used) and also bought the covers for the holes. Looks exactly like the advanced now!

I bought a Premium also. I was lucky enough to snag the Retractable cover for $129.99 delivered on Ebay in April. I couldn't believe it when I saw it on Ebay for that price and I did not think twice. It was in new condition.

Fine, but I've not had any trouble getting to work and running errands in my Prime.

I've gotten more complements from strangers and friends on how this car looks than on any car I've ever owned, including my classic show car.

It's funny I went the other way and picked up the foldable one. It helps when I have bigger things in the trunk. Keeps prying eyes away IMO.

I have a premium and I asked the Toyota service center how much the retractable cover would be - I think they said $500. So I didn't get it.

The previous model year was 2007, and it had a much more substantial cover than my 2017 Advanced.

Mine came with the retractable cover. I thought it was standard on the Prime

I would also like the folding one. Where to you get it? Have a P/N?

Just as an FYI, all the pictures of pull-out tonneua cover for the cargo area that i've seen show that the hard, not retractable portion at the back of the cover hangs down when the cover is retracted. That hanging flap is in the way, and blocks a big chunk of the cargo space. When I picked up my new Prime from the dealer, they had that flap flipped over and tucked under the head rests. That puts the flap out of the way, and looks much nicer. Here's a couple of pictures...
