When I shift from park to reverse with my foot on the brake, about half the time the car immediately starts moving with my foot on the brake. I let off the brake and press again and they work fine. This is the only issue I've noticed. abs and brake light is on.

From what I read, I think it might be the brake actuator. Could it be anything else?

That's definitely a question worth asking, as the actuator is pricey. Have you read the trouble codes yet? What were they?

Brake codes can be read even if you don't have an actual scan tool; search for posts on how to get them with a short jumper wire by counting light blinks.

So I had the local hybrid shop look at it. It is the actuator/accumulator which is a $2600 repair. The car can be driven, I just don't have antilock brakes. The actuator can drain the 12v battery as it constantly tries to keep pressure up.
Not sure what to do. Probably try to sell it, with full disclosure. I don't need it anymore and I don't want my wife driving it as is. Sucks that I missed the warranty by 31 days..

I think I'm going to get the part on ebay and maaybe install it myself, then have the dealer replace the brake fluid. According to this thread, that was the plan: Brake actuator assembly | PriusChat

Does a brake fluid service cover bleeding all the fluid lines that I would be disconnecting during this job?
