And yet the variable transmission is a crazy, convoluted, clunky thing compared to an EV. (no, I can't help myself, thanks for asking). I agree that the trans is the best in an ICE vehicle that I've ever used. But once you go electric, it is tough to move backwards.

OK... so my real answer for this thread before I get clubbed is: The shifter. Still more complicated than an EV (forward, reverse - nothing else) but laid out perfectly for this vehicle (that also reaquires a Neutral) in my opinion.

My favorite thing is the grin that comes across my face when my fellow employees now tell me I was smart to buy a Prius. It took me eight months to get it and many of them told me I was crazy to wait that long for a car and gas prices will never get high enough to justify the cost. Now many of them say their next car or SUV will be a hybrid. That's really the best thing. B)

Love the SKS - hate digging those keys out of my purse. Now I keep my house and office keys on a separate small ring and hardly ever have to go for the big ring of keys. Also love not having the engine running when I'm stopped, but guess that must be one of those PC things that doesn't qualify. And of course I love my beautiful black color.

Me too--I got dibs on the Shark music from Jaws...specially now that DH installed my Shark Fin antenna today, for which he gets all kinds of good dh awards, given the heat--over 100, which is NOT normal for this part of Northern Calif. BUT , since he & 18yo son are off on a mini grand tour of Europe on Tues for about 3wks, as HS grad pres for kid and bonding time for dad (how many more yrs is kid gonna wanna hang out w/ dad?), and my contribution to the gift is NOT going with them! So--they both have lotsa stuff to do before Bruce & I'll take them to the airport on Tues.! B)

Why didn't I think of that as a HS graduation gift. My brat got new wheels and rims for his Toyota Matrix, but it would have been a nice gift to myself to get rid of him for a while. And if I sent DH with him, it would be just me and the pets, now that would be really nice.

For me the thing is not having to search for the damn key!! I just get in the car push the power button and I am off!!

It's kind of like driving an appliance!! :)

And that answers my question: How do I get those lights to work. I guess I have to open the mirror door.

Enjoy your peace and quiet. I hope you don't spend all of the time sorting, packing, and shipping the wee pris.

Oh, but you see, that is part of the beauty of the system--if kid'd been here, I'd've ended up feeling obligated to pay him to help...

Gee guys, What about a climate control that actually controls the climate BY ITSELF. Just set your temp.and never touch it again. Any other cars do that?

My favorite thing is the powertrain itself -- Hybrid Synergy Drive. I like how smooth and quiet and responsiveness the thing is! Driving on very hilly highway was a breeze and didn't feel like a 4 cyl at all.
