Here's the secret to taking good pics: Dont's show anyone the bad ones!

In the old days of film and prints, every picture cost you something. A lousy shot was still a pic you had paid for, so you tended to keep them. In this digital age, delete, delete, delete. You'll get better by looking at the good pictures and noticing what you like about them.

In your first shot, the low angle and being close to the car makes the headlamp bulge at you. Also, that reflection of some powerline or something, that runs from the Toyota emblem on the hood to the headlamp, almost looks like a body seam, except there isn't one on the other side. What kind of white truck is that on the bumper? Is it important?

I'm not criticizing your picture, just looking at it closely. We tend to take pictures of events or ideas, but what we get is an image, with reflections and shadows and odd colors. Try to learn to look at the image in your viewfinder, or on your LCD, not My New Prius.

Keep taking pictures! Keep deleting the ones you don't like! There are lots of books on photography, let your own eyes teach you.

First on the first picture there is a very ugly stain on the right side of your bumper. Try to filter out imperfections like that. B)

What a beauty! Bill's got it right, take lots, lots fo pics, and gradually you'll see the imperfections before or as you take the pic. Snap on!

i took a few more, but its either blurry or i dont like it, so didnt post or deleted..lol

the "ugly stain" on the right side of the bumper is the sticker that let me drive in the HOV/Carpool lane by myself, i guess i can photoshop that out

Shot first and ask questions later! That's good advice.

For every page of Prius photos I publish, there's another 20 pages worth of content I ended up discarding.

Each session involves 100's of exposures. Then once I get home, I painstaking sort through looking for the ideal angle... lighting... background. It takes forever. But it is well worth it. Developing a photographers eye takes a ton of practice. And the books will help.

    Keep shoting!

Agreed - get the biggest SD-Card you can afford and then just keep taking shots until it's full - then take some more! Since digital, I've increased the number of pictures I take by a factor of at least 20 and I delete MOST of what I shoot!

No one said anything about deleting!

The cost to make a permanent dump on DVD is trivial. It works about to around 10 cents per photo session for me.
