Mine, hands down, or fingers up, is the cool Star Trek-y sunglasses holder. Beam 'em down, Scotty! (Distant 2nd is cool little hidey holes all over the back under the mats, especially the one in the left rear corner--great place to smuggle drugs, should one EVER consider such a thing... or maybe even a shipment of illicit WeePrees to Canada!)
The PC stuff and the HOV stickers. OK... kidding! The ONLY reason I bought this car (as our secondary vehicle) is because it is the only car on the market with the proper configuration (aerodynamic sedan) that has ANY EV mode.... and when it burns gas, it burns it as cleanly as just about any vehicle on the road. The biggest detraction for me? That it burns gasoline at all.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(darelldd @ Jul 21 2006, 11:22 PM) </div> Ok. Let's restart this. DARELLDD: You don't get to answer! I MEANT some cool gadget-y thing that isn't about the hybrid issues at all, which fall under the PC definition. My game, I get to make up the rules. B)
Since driving the Prius for the last week, the coolest thing about it in my opinion is never having to take the keys out of my pocket. That just rocks, I can't get over how cool that is to me.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(AZTriGuy @ Jul 22 2006, 02:50 AM) </div> Second that emotion!
The coolest thing for me is the nav system. Second is the Key FOB. Third is the ability to Mod things. Love this car!
Keyless entry and the energy/consumption screens. All cars should have these -- well, I know there wouldn't be much point showing a diagram of arrows coming from the gas engine to the motor to the wheels -- I mean, all cars should show people how many miles per gallon they are going.
I like the magic mirror that projects the speedomerter cluster onto the dashboard. Second, I like the MFD. Happy Motoring !
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Jeannie @ Jul 22 2006, 03:11 AM) </div> I third that. It is just so great when my hands are full to just walk up and open the back or the door.
When you open the visor mirror covers with the lights in the "on" position, the light comes on, then if you tilt the visors forward to block out the sun, the lights go off...unbelieveble!!!
As someone who has always loved the VA-ROOM----VA-ROOM of a hot engine, I find myself loving the quiet.
Yeah - the quietness is ace. Even when driving along on the open road with ICE, you can hardly hear a thing. Lately, I've been cruising along mentally figuring out exactly how the HSD works.. I think I've finally got a complete handle on it, and that gives me the biggest kick of all. It really is genius, and definitely deserves some kind of industry or design award. Is there a Nobel prize for smartassed-ness?
The best thing I love about this car is THE CAR - EVERYTHING!!! There's no one best feature. Each feature to me is a wonderful thing. What could be better: power seats, with two position memory, better suspension to take the bumps out of washboard roads, slightly softer seats (I'm used to a Chrysler New Yorker), better gas mileage (I get typically 41 MPG overall), and paint that doesn't scratch (like that will ever happen).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(gopher @ Jul 22 2006, 12:25 PM) </div> I have to second gopher's comment. I've had the Prius for three months now and have yet to find anything that I don't like. I see a lot of complaints about the seats but both my wife and I find them very comfortable. I see comments about mileage. We're averaging 51+ mpg. I LOVE THIS CAR! The very best thing about the Prius... it shoots down everything the hybird critics say.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rufaro @ Jul 22 2006, 02:38 AM) </div> That puts me out of this game. My fave thing is the ability to pulse and glide with greater safety and less effort than I had with a non-hybrid manual transmission.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(galaxee @ Jul 22 2006, 08:22 AM) </div> Or at least not since the second post... where I've taken heat already! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rufaro @ Jul 21 2006, 11:38 PM) </div> This is probably a good rule in general.
I think the thing I love the most is the transmission. I have never driven such a smooth car. And I don't think I could ever go back to a car that doesn't drive just as smooth as my Prius. (I have 10ft ceilings in my house. I don't think I could ever go back to living in a home that doesn't have high ceilings either.)
