Hi Guys. The PiP is Lithium. Our products are only for NiMh batteries. Once we finish the next generation Pro Reconditioning system and After cooler, I plan to start investigating Lithium to see if their is anything that can be done. But as of now our products in general should not be used on Lithium batteries.

Yeah agreed it is not a consumer product. And it has been an all consuming undertaking to get it done, stable, and 'finished' from an engineering/R&D/QA perspective. This is why I have been MIA around here.

Soon we should be done. Then focus will shift to merging them into a single box. (Yay more work!)

@Raytheeagle @jerrymildred and I have still been trying to promote your products where appropriate.

Thank you for the update. I think some people wondered why you were MIA.

You guys would not believe how hard working Jeff is!
Between creating, testing and producing the product, plus going around the country to trade shows to promote the product I'm surprised he has time for anything else.

From a satisfied customer, I hope?
Or no time to test? :D

I'm talking about his dedication to the business in general.
I've been working on hybrids since 2003 and have had my own charging/discharging equipment since long before Jeff ever came on the scene.
Back then we had to homebrew our own or look to a tinkerers to toss together the equipment we need.

I’ve been to his shop and he helped me out:).

The least I can do is share my experience and help others see the value;).

An all in one box would be a fantastic option(y).

Especially if it has enough 'fuzzy logic' to do the job right the first time.

Lithium is a totally different chemistry than NiMH and because of that NiMH benefits from "exercise" while lithium deterioration depends entirely on cycles. There's also a big difference in the quality of cells from Japan (ex Panasonic) vs cheaper chinese cells. Lithium also doesn't like deep discharges so I imagine that Toyota has looked at this very carefully and adjusted their hybrid management software accordingly.

You can see how cycles go up non-linearly with the depth of discharge.

Pretty sexy curve on that Winston, where would one obtain an affordable 12v version of such?

And could it replace the conventional AGM in a prius?

@jeff652 Is there any consideration of adding pigtail to trickle charge the 12v?

I have heard some recommend that the 12v should be placed on a battery tender of some sort during the charger/discharger process.

The 12v is lead-acid AGM, a different battery chemistry.

Does the HA Charger/Discharger power the HV Cooling Fan?

Integrated into the wiring harness and runs at full blast all the time during charging and discharging operation with the Hybrid Automotive equipment (y).

Thanks guys, my concern was that the cooling fan might run down the 12v during the process.

No need for that, just get yourself a CTEK 3300 12V smart charger and hook it up for 24 hours twice a year when you do the traction battery, works great.
