Hi! I am seriously considering buying this clean title 2014 Prius 56k miles with moderately severe front end damage once it is fixed. The underside, front wheel and suspension may have damage too. If I buy this it will be my first time buying a newish vehicle (last one was 1996) and a Prius. My dealer already bought this for me. I am supposed to buy it once its fixed Any help is appreciated. I tried looking for a exploded diagram to no avail. Some questions: 1. Aside from front bumper, styrofoam, reinforment bar, and one headlight, what else is missing? Radiator, associated mounts, hoses and stuff? 2. Do you think any vital components took a hit? 3. Do you think wheels, brakes, suspension, torsion bars, other things in the area took a hit and have to be replaced 4. Is the "Maintenance Required" sign signaling something that's easy to fix? 5. What would be the repair bill on this car if cheaply and safely done? If I know this I could be better armed to negotiate. 6. Would Toyota stand by the manufacturer's warrantly based on the milage, clean title once it is fixed? Any advice will be appreciated.
I can see oil spills beneath the engine area. I do hope, the sump isn't damaged too? Appears to be a nice car. How much did it go for?
I will probably not be buying this particular car anymore. It seems the dealer cannot let the car go what I am willing to spend at this moment. I am considering buying something a little older. To answer your question, DXTA, it was bought over at Copart. $4300+towing+fixing.
Wouldn't buy anything beyond $3000 car-wise that I can't drive off the lot and be car be in good or decent shape if it's hell of a deal. At Hanslee ca/r dealer at Davis, I test drove prius 2011 and there were rattling underneath the plastic shield under the rea/r passenger seat above 35mph. It felt like a rock was bouncing between the shield and chassis. They said after I pay for it, they will fix it and be ready and not worry. I walked away. San Jose Steven Creek advertised a prius 2010 with leather. On photos, seats had no leather so I used that to bend the price down. They lowered it $1,500 than asking price, I hesistated and was goign to leave. Manager said I'll get the seats redone with leather and keep the $1,500 off also. I said put that in writing and I'll pay cash now, he said nothing will be written down til I pay for it so I ran fa/r away. It was a wise move that you didn't buy it, even at the price.
Mehn, you're smart man. We experience this kinda shit in Lagos too! Never knew its possible over there, where a dealer would decline putting stuffs like that in writing.
