Just got my first Prius! 2013! Base trim. What should I do now?

    I just got my first Prius! Think I got a pretty good deal from a dealership:

    2013 Prius Base Trim (silver)
    81,000 miles
    $11,000
    - Seems to have gotten a brand new battery at 60k miles according to the service history

    Had a 2013 Prius Four with 105k for $10,000 lined up. But, it was from a private seller and there was a lien on the title. Felt like I could trust the guy and the car seemed very well taken care of from talking to him. But, handing somebody a $10k check and not walking away with the keys seemed weird. So, missed out on the Four's trim package. Sooooo

    What should I do now? I've been looking up stuff like how to camp out of it and such. But, is there some very functional addons, accessories, mods, etc I should be looking up for this base level trim? I just updated the software from 2.2 to 5.2

    EDIT: It's a 2013 Prius Three. Put in the VIN into Toyota's website and it's listed as a Three.

    Just drive it and enjoy the fuel economy.
    Some users here like @Raytheeagle can recommend some maintenance things to check. He is good with preventive maintenance too.

    I'm guessing that the battery that was replaced was the small 12 volt battery, not the hybrid battery.

    I would start by studying the history in this thread ...

    Of course your priority is making sure that there are no issues that will affect the relliability. Once those are resolved, my list would look something like:
    • fix scratches dents dings and any cosmetic blemishes
    • TRD springs
    • Cusco front & rear sway bars
    • TOM's under-body brace
    • TOM's front strut bar
    • Ultra Racing rear strut bar
    • iJDMToy interior LED lighting
    • Window tint
    • JDM steering wheel
    • Android head unit
    • G-Sport retrofit, including:
      • headlights (with projector retrofit)
      • taillights
      • front & rear bumper covers
      • stainless 3" exhaust

    One of the first things to do is keep an eye on the dipstick and ensure no oil consumption occurs or if it is, you now know to keep an eye on it;).

    Consider the following:

    • Transaxle drain and fill
    • Brake caliper pin lubrication
    • Brake inspection
    Good luck with your new Prius (y).

    I'm using superbrightleds.com LEDs in my car

    Red 194/168 for the door courtesy light (it contrasts nicely with the blue light from the OEM illuminated door sills)
    Cool white 194/168 for the map lights/front personal light
    Cool white Festoon (3022/DE3175 I think?) for the rear dome light
    Warm white festoon (3022/DE3175 I think?) for the cargo area
    Cool White 194/168 for the licence plate lights

    All of them are SMD LEDs (not the old style diodes)


    When I had 5000K HIDs, I also changed the forward-facing parking light (The one above the headlight) to the cool white 194/168 SMDs to colour match. I did not change the side parking lights (amber)
