Yesterday I plugged-in my phone, LG3 to the auxiliary jack, then chose AUX on the screen, started my podcast, and... nothing. Checked phone volume, which was fine. Noted that podcast was playing (per phone screen and advancing timeline). Nada. Anyone have any ideas? My phone is paired with the car and I've received and made calls, hands free, if that info is any help. Thanks!
You are using the headphone jack to connect to the car, correct? If you plug a set of headphones into that same jack, can you hear anything? I've found the quality of the sound coming through the headphone jack on my devices to be very dependent upon how securely the cord stays connected.
I've not tried plugging a set of headphones into that jack. I have plugged an iPad into the AUX jack and had sound come from speakers with no problems. I assumed (always dangerous) that the same would happen with my Android phone. I wonder if these cars are so weighted to the Apple world that the Android isn't welcome?
It could be your phone audio routing settings. Audio could be automatically routed through Bluetooth while the connection with the car is active. Try switching car unit to Bluetooth audio source. Calls always override the audio source of the car automatically from the phone, but it doesn't happen when playing music. SM-T813 ?
If you check out other threads in this forum, I think you'll find that more people have had trouble getting their I-phones to work with Prius electronics than their Android phones. At least in this case, there is no discrimination against Android users. (I'm an Android user myself). The suggestion of @aurelio to try the Bluetooth connection for music sounds like a good one, but I would also want to confirm that there is nothing physically wrong with the jack on your phone.
If the phone is paired for internet and music then you shouldn't have to use the aux jack, the sound should come out your speakers via bluetooth if you select bluetooth as the source instead of aux.
. Thanks for the feedback. I was listening to the podcast on my phone with headphones in the audio jack shortly before trying to continue listening to it in the car. I'll check the bluetooth settings are on the phone and hope that'll be the fix. Thanks again.
