I don’t think he drives like us. I find the performance to be fine and what was that about him only getting 16 miles from a charge... lead foot. The packaging compromises have been explored here extensively already.

at least he admitted it was popular. must be difficult when everyone else loves something you dislike.
people of little character will devote themselves to tearing things down out of jealousy.

“Lead foot,” as you say, but I suspect the P.Prime Toyota gives out to reviewers has suffered some abuse too.

Looks like we have to subscribe to comment, so I gave up on commenting. If I were to comment though it would be along these lines:
    - Its acceleration is fine. Not “sporty,” I suppose, but far from sluggish.
    - As yet at least, there’s no single ideal (PH)EV energy/price profile. You just have to choose one that’s best for your particular driving needs. You have to look at, among other things, the distances between chargers for the routes you drive the most. In my case at least, I’m well into the 90s% EV even including couple-times-per-year road trips, and dang near 100% excluding road trips. But that’s me (and a lot of you as well), but others needs will differ.
    - The P.Prime is mostly about overall efficiency at reasonable price. Yes, the Volt’s EV range is about double the P.Prime’s, but it only gets about 40MPG on gas, at a somewhat higher price. (Plus, its battery pack intrudes into the cabin quite a lot.)
    - I’m fine with the P.Prime’s styling. In my view, Tesla has them all beat hands down, but I think it looks fine. Please please please understand I’m not stereotyping the Japanese in saying this, but P. Prime gives me the impression of a Samurai-warrior face mask! Japanese designers are very smart and capable of a wide variety of stylistic statements, but I suspect that in this particular case, they intentionally wanted to “channel that vibe,” so to speak, and succeeded. I personally like it when I view it from that mindset!

WSJ, is owned by Rupert Murdock, who cares what the WSJ cares about anything political, enviremental or Monetary.
Again, posting on priuschat with an iPad is almost impossible.
Priuschat, a for profit site makes it impossible to post.

Oil has been inching up lately. I wonder what future reviews will say...
