Hi everybody my car is 2015 prius persona and my question is what's the recommended tiers pressure for best fuel economy ?!
I do not inflate to best fuel economy, as that is not safe. i inflate to best handling and longest tread life. Depending on the tire itself, that may be 38 to 42 PSI in front, and I follow Toyota's recommendation to have the rears 2 PSI less.
Keep in mind OP has 17" low profile tires. Door sticker says 33/32 psi (front/rear). I set our's (215/45R17 Michelin Pilot hx MXM4) at 36 psi, for all four. That pressures seems a reasonable bump, without getting too harsh (it's harsh to begin with) and I find varying front/rear pressures by one pound trivial, and a pain when you're rotating.
Passenger-car tires are typically 5 to 15 p.s.i. below the commonly recommended level of 30 to 35 p.s.i. Under-inflated tires add resistance, making your engine work harder to push the car along the road and burning more fuel.
In cold non-rainy/snow weather, air up the front tires to the max PSI spec printed on the front tires. Air up the rear tires 2 psi LOWER than the front tires.
