My drivers window has started behaving oddly, when it’s closing it stops and then opens again, when I then try and close it the same happens after only a second or so. I’ve checked for obstructions and there are none, I know the motor is activating the anti-trap but even after cleaning the runners and squirting silicone live down then it still does the same. I have a video of it doing it but don’t know how to post it. Any ideas on what to look for next? 2010 Gen 3
Try this, if the battery was disconnected the window needs to be reprogrammed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvpcTKVfRAY
Prius initialization procedure when the power window does not fully open or properly close: (1) Turn the power switch on (IG), or hold POWER for 5 seconds. (2) Fully close the power window by fully pulling up the power window button, and hold the button for 6 seconds or more after the window is fully closed (if the power window does not move or stops halfway even when the switch is fully pulled, release the button and fully pull it again). (3) Fully open the window by pushing down the power window button, and hold the switch for 1 second or more after the window is fully opened. (4) Release power window button. Then fully push down and hold the switch for 4 seconds or more. (5) Fully close the power window by fully pulling up power window switch, and hold the switch for 1 second or more after the window is fully closed to reset the glass position and complete the initialization.
I guess I get to try this reset procedure tonight.. It's been fine, but this AM I rolled it down.. went to put it back up and it went about 1/4 of the way and stopped.. put it down and back up and it stopped in the same spot.. put it down all the way and it came back up.. so, thinking that it was just a fluke, I put it back down again. (stupid me) and it did the same thing.. stopped at ~1/4 of the way.. I had to put it down 2 or 3 times before it came all the way back up.. but figured I wouldn't touch it until I could research and I have it closer to home.. (like in the garage)
this procedure actually worked for me, the others above did not work: Reset Window Motor on Prius Reset (initialize) Power Window Regulator Motor Resetting the power window motor is necessary when the battery terminal is disconnected; when the power window master switch, window motor, wire harness, or window regulator is replaced or removed. Otherwise the Auto operation function, Jam function, and remote operation function will not work. Here are the steps: A. Turn the ignition switch ON. B. Halfway open the power window by pressing the power window switch. C. Fully pull up the switch until the window is full closed and continue to hold the switch for approximately 1 second after the window is fully closed. D. Check that the Auto Up/Down function operates normally. If not operating normally, follow these steps. 1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 10 seconds. 2. Connect the battery terminal. 3. Follow steps A-D above Reset Window Motor on Prius | Auto Glass Jim I believe that we'll be replacing the 12v battery in the near future.. (it's still original)
