Recently replace my 2006 prius (it was totaled, only reason I needed a new one) with a new Prius package 3. Love it. I like the feature when you shut the car off and it gives you the information for the trip you just took. I am curious where you input the fuel cost so you can see how much you paid for the trip you just finished. Can't seem to find how to get to that. If anyone knows how to get the fuel cost input I would appreciate letting me know.
Hi Greg. Just bought a 2017 Prius 2 and it's the only thing I can't figure out how to do. Can't find it in the owner's manual either, which is surprising. How does one enter the cost per gallon of the fuel? Did you ever find out from back then?
BUT.....you have to pay attention to the screen immediately upon starting it up after adding fuel. It only remains there for something like 10 seconds.
Because of this, and because the interface is a little bit clunky, I set the gas price to $1.00 so I can see how many gallons I used instead.
Lucky you, mine is only 3 seconds. But you can actually edit it going thru the tracer button system menu if you miss the chance to do it.
When I got my first 2008 Prius I kept track of all the gas I put in it for the first year. I think I averaged 47.8 mpg. After that I quit writing it down and did some math in my head sometimes but I got on with my life. Now with a new Prius I pay some attention to miles per tank but I am done letting it drive me crazy. Gas isn't one of my big expenses anyway, I put more gas in my wife's lawnmower than I do in the Prius in the summer and she has never learned how to hyper mile on her lawnmower yet. lol
