On my 07 I noticed my steering wheel controls don't light up. I've tried two known working sets and they don't light up either. I have changed my radio out and don't have the steering wheel radio controls hooked up but the hvac and info buttons work fine. I did change out my MFD for a navigation MFD I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Only issue really is they don't illuminate on the steering wheel. Any suggestions? Not showing any signs of a bad clockspring. No airbag light or strange noise as if it's broken like on most I've replaced. I can grab one from another prius next time I find one in the yard but no other issues besides no illumination. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.

The illumination is controlled by this plug on the back of oem radio that. This is where the steering wheel control wiring is. Well got it figured out just need to do some wiring lol Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
What was the wiring you did? My steering wheel lights are off too but I bought my Prius used with an aftermarket deck. Thanks for the help.
This is the diagram I used since I have an android head unit and found out I didn't even need the aftermarket steering wheel controller because it was built into the android unit. Got lights and controls working now. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
As far as the lights are concerned just ground the red wire #6 to the ground wire on the back of your aftermarket radio. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.

Sounds logical, but ! have googled this before and never found an aswer (apart from clockspring), so love to have an extra confirmation this actually works between now and when I can actually try it...
I'm using Axxess aswc-1 and I lost the backlights on my steering wheel after installing it. The buttons work with my aftermarket Sony, just the lights on the steering wheel stopped working. Any solutions?
