    Got my package today!
I know, I know... pics or it didn't happen.

Here's a pic of the shipment box being transported in the back of my Prius. That's all I have for now.

I am swamped with work stuff as well as some political activism I'm involved with right now. (Child labor laws being eroded in my state. Huh?)

So this will be a teaser for now. May need to start a new thread.

Awesome! Just checking but you opened the box in the picture right? Hopefully it wasn't delivered opened and put back together?!

It's right at the weight limit of UPS ground (70lbs) so I didn't know how they were going to treat it, but it looks roughly the same as how I sent it out. Thanks for the box pic, it is actually quite helpful.

    Good luck with your cause!

Apparently, with proper packing, UPS can deliver heavier. I ordered a 90 lb gas water pump from Amazon Prime and it was delivered by UPS.
I doubt you give UPs as much business as Amazon though.

Amazon probably ships a couple more packages annually than I do. :)

UPS will ship things that are hundreds of pounds, and they'll do up to 150lbs before they force you to do freight. But it then requires "Additional Handling" and sometimes extra charges happen. 70lbs is the upper limit of the normal. It takes the same conveyor belts and handling as any other more normal package.

I've shipped a few thousand pounds via UPS in one shipment before, they picked it up with an 18-wheeler. The driver was not amused at having to navigate my neighbourhood.

    Correct. I opened it.
I was going to go through the rest of it and then I thought I would stop and take some "unboxing" pics for folks. But this is as far as I got.

Too many other things on the plate today. Civic Hybrid Battery. Prius inspection. Prius headlights. Insight battery. Calls to Senator's offices. Checking up on Labor committee votes. Writing followup emails to allies. Etc, etc.

I can't work out whether you are being serious or sarcastic, but in any case this is off-topic. Fred's House of Pancakes (FHOP) is where you want to post political opinions.

    Please don't hijack threads.

I am in the same boat as Lesk_The_Glut - except the junkyard pack inherited in my 07 has been out over half a dozen times and I have done a cell by cell 3x charge/discharge with my hobby charger the last 3 times . The extra couple of weeks downtime does space out the triangle of death to around 6 months plus - instead of every month or two .

Just drove my old Honda Wagon to vegas last weekend as I didnt want to be that far from home if the triangle codes blew . The week before that drove the Prius over the mountains east and the display bars went from blue to purple , no bars, and then blue and green again . I really thought it was going to triangle but it didn't . ..oh and got to see the same progression displayed again when I came back later that day .. so am overdue for a real solution vs kicking the can 6 monthes down the road .

Sounds like it is time to start planning for a real solution. :)

How did you even manage that? I floored my '07 on an on ramp with 2 bars (~47%). And after a minute the lowest I got it to was 1 purple bar at 35% and the battery wouldn't give any more kWs. No idea how you got 0 bars....

Sea Level to 4200 ft plus ...3 tall peaks ..50 miles of mountains And then later that day back again . Maybe I imagined it ..but it seemed like that last purple bar disappeared a couple of times.

We had some heat out here a few weeks ago 100 plus and with the a/c on saw the bars drop from blue to purple in the city .. then when the ac was turned off or driving on level freeway it would bounce back up ..even go green .

    Hmm...
Did it even go green when on the freeway?

It's that kinda stuff that makes me paranoid for my car, yet I don't know if International Priuses have their HSD systems programmed differently than the US'. Similar to how we know how the battery management and traction control differ between 2004 - '05 models and 2006 - '09. Well if you ever get a glance of you delta voltage before replacing your pack that'll be grand.

One of my coworkers acquaintances had some bad luck as his 07 was totaled . The pack in the car was undamaged and had been replaced under warranty from Toyota a year before ..approximately 25k miles on the pack . Was allowed to exchange my pack for his before the car was towed away ..so my quest for a 4 year solution has abated for now .

EricBecky told me that in the old honda hybrid days when ALL the new packs failed , the cylindrical cell sets were the better solution than factory replacement. I was ready to buy the Cylindrical Cell pack from 2k1Toaster , his extra time in QC the modules & backing a warranty made this a REAL solution . Much better than playing whack a mole every few monthes with modules or Russian roulette in shopping a used pack ..and NOT giving the frakking dealer any more money really appealed to me .

Spent alot of time avoiding the dealer solution and was not suckered into promises made by Electron and Dormans ..and spent over $600 on modules over the past 5 years..but no regrets as am another 70,000 miles down the road and the dealer only got me for $70 for the 12v battery prorate when that failed . If I had to do over, would have done this out of the gate as I am not close to TX near Matt or AZ near Steve or WI near Eric.
