Long time user, first time posting. Besides the dash board not working at night or when it's cold. I get a weak gas mileage when dashboard is not working. Any suggestion? I changed the original 12v battery with another one not for prius since the car is not in the US. Thanks

I have recently started getting horrendous fuel mileage with my 2009 Prius. It's been very cold here (Boise, Idaho, USA) lately, and my dashboard has also stopped responding to touch. It "seems" to get better when the car gets very warmed up, but I have the hardest time adjusting temperature controls. I am basically stuck on defrost. That may be attributing to my poor gas mileage, but I am not sure. Why would you change the battery?

if it is week, the hybrid battery has to charge it more, and the engine has to run more to recharge the hybrid battery, using more fuel.
