Trunk Light Retrofit

oversized light is very bright:

 

I just installed a LED light in that location today but it was a different type and haven't seen it in the dark.

It's hard to light up the interior that is black, it just sucks up all the light.

 

This makes a change from those wailing about the vivid porcelain white spoiling the Gen 4 interior.

 

I just put in a simple LED replacement bulb and it made a huge difference, much whiter and brighter.

 

That bulb was the first thing I did to my car. I ordered a LED light (Sylvania 168 Zevo LED) and installed it. It helped but it's still dark. They really need to have 2 lights in the boot, one on each side. Has anyone installed a second light on the opposite side?

 

They do make an LED that mounts into the lift gate. I have thought of doing this but last week I installed the "Yours LED Room Light" and the Led for the cargo area is brighter that the old bulb so I might wait on the lift gate one.

If your car is like mine that black interior sucks all the light and have another car with a light in the trunk is the same way.

I did the LED upgrade.

 

My car has tan interior but the cargo area is still black.

 

I keep a free Harbor Freight flashlight with magnet and hook in the back.
