Drove for six hours today and pulled off into a hotel parking lot. I restarted my car a few minutes after I stopped and an alert for Hybrid System Indicator came up. It didn't stay on, it didn't flash or buzz and I was able to drive the car. My thought is to let it rest for the night and see if it does it in the morning. Any ideas why this is happening? I have another six hours to go tomorrow and am wondering if it is safe to do so.
probably just a glitch. anything unusual about your driving, the weather or the topography? have you checked the oil, air filter, and battery cooling intake grille? what does an 'alert for the hybrid system indicator' look like?
Just had the car serviced so oil shouldn't be the problem. It might be time to change the air filter. I'm at 26000 miles on the car.
30k according to the owners manual. maybe it's time you took more proactive interest in the maintenance? for all you know, the dealer might not have added enough oil.
There has to be an error code recorded on that, someone just needs to read it. Maybe the battery vent was blocked or the like.
How about this... As noted by @rdgrimes perhaps getting the codes would be helpful... Also get the Owners manual for your car to see if there is an illustration for that...
the hybrid system indicator is simply one of the screens on the display. not sure what it means when the words pop up on the mfd for an instant.
Me neither. It just pops up when I start the car and it disappears. I accidentally hit the EV mode button yesterday while I was driving, and I noticed that it pops up when I hit that again this morning.
I’m thinking that it’s something that happens normally when I turn on the car and I never noticed it before.
