    Is an average of 54,000 miles a year common for a Prius? Is that like an oil change every month?

    The average depends on the driver. Some retired seniors that own prius cars drive 10000 miles a year.

    Oil change is usually every 10000 miles with synthetic oil. But many change it more often than that

    Yikes that's a lot of miles per year. My wife and I (both retired) put about 15K miles or so on our car per year. Of course there are some super commuters like this thread...

    More likely someone whose work requires them to be on the road. My wife works in sales, and logs about 40K miles/year -- and she's not on the road every day. There's another PC member that delivers medical supplies or something like that -- he logs 100K miles/year. :-o
