I am new to the forum. After waiting about 3 months, I got a new Blizzard Pearl Prius Prime Advance on November 30th. I am loving it. I commute 45 miles one way to work 3 days a week. In the first 10 days I have averaged 98 MPG. I am getting about 3-3.5 miles per kWh. With our local electrical company, I pay about 4 cents a mile for electric. They charge $0.075360 per kWh. However, when you add in all their other charges, it is about $0.13 per kWh! I have been lucky so far. My work parking garage does not have any charging stations. There is one 110v outlet that I have been able to park near enough to charge from each day. I asked head of parking about adding some charge stations to the parking garage. He said they had looked at it and decided to only put 14 level 2 charge stations in the new garage they just built about 1/2 mile from where my office is. He said it would cost too much to put retrofit them into my parking garage which is about 100 yards from my office. BUT, this is so much better than my '14 Tundra! I was getting an average of 11.9 MPG using E-85 in it. I kept my truck along with the Prime. You always can use a truck.
I pay $15.00/mo as per landlord agreement when I had 2012 PIP. never told him the battery's twice as big now
Nice! Do you plan on doing anything with the wheels or leaving it as is. How about winter tires? I just bought a set of Michelin X-Ice XI3 for winter. Better to safe. The stock Dunlop’s it came with slip around way too much.
I think I'll leave the wheels as is. As for winter...I also have a 2014 Tundra 4WD. I won't be driving the Prime in bad weather!
