I brought a 59 plate Prius with smart key. When I lock/unlock the car it doesn't make any beep sound (all other warning beep sounds are working properly). Then tried carista app to customize the setting and found that my locking/unlocking beep sound is in max. I tried to turn it off and on again but still it doesn't make any sound when I lock/unlock the car. The trim lights blink when the car locks. I'm having an Alzheimer's moment: can't remember if ours beeps either. What's "59 plate", typo?
Mine does not beep when it locks succesfully. I can't find in the manual that it's an option. The car will beep when it can not lock succesfully, e.g. when one of the doors is open. "59 plate" is a period of registration in the UK, september 2009 - March 2010 if I'm right.
My 2013 does not beep either. Very annoying, especially when you lock with the door handle, you get no confirmation
Yes it is 2010 model. Yes, 2010 prius have this feature (manual customize settings) Also car shows it has an option locking unlocking sound when I tried an OBD2 device to customize vehicle settings. I do the same, if you use back boot lock button then you won't hear anything. Sometime I have to park my car with hazard lights on, then you won't know either it's lock or unlock. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Mine does not beep too, can only hear (or even feel lock sound, sometimes (when surrounding is noisy) only trim lights blink indicate locking.
Yeah, and there are NO lights on the side of the car! So lock them rush in front / back to see the lights blink :-P
You can see the corner lights blink when standing at the side, lol. I prefer this to a noisy chirp of the horn, but maybe that's just me.
Mine has blinkers in the rear view mirror. I can see if the car locks or unlocks even when I'm standing at the B pillar
Yeah, I looked closely at the mirror today and realized that the left side mirror bulb was not working
I've found those little bulbs burning out, front trim lights, license plate lights, for example. Good to check them all, say yearly.
