Sorry to be late, I'm having a browser technical issue. Regardless, another outstanding report by Jeff Cobb's team: http://www.hybridcars.com/november-2017-dashboard/ model 11/15/17 10/15/17 09/15/17 08/15/17 1 Prius Liftback 4787 4532 5722 6043 2 RAV4 4349 5012 5759 5128 3 Transit Diesel 3798 3602 4741 3560 4 Fusion Hybrid 3541 5087 6326 4623 5 Bolt EV 2987 2781 2632 2107 6 Camry Hybrid 2703 1897 2090 1284 7 Niro Hybrid 2235 1935 2554 2677 8 Prius Prime 1834 1626 1899 1820 9 Model X 1800 900 3400 1700 10 Volt 1702 1362 1453 1445 11 Accord Hybrid 1586 1832 2278 2162 12 Ram Pickup Diesel 1417 1712 1137 390 13 Optima Hybrid 1404 705 396 294 14 Model S 1400 1100 4500 2100 15 Highlander Hybrid 1393 1266 1500 1419 16 C-Max Hybrid 939 1092 820 1009 17 Ioniq Hybrid 939 870 1101 1093 18 X5 929 329 333 317 19 5-Series Plug in 872 596 511 345 20 Prius C 854 900 937 853 21 RX 400 / 450 h 753 675 835 852 22 Fusion Energi 731 741 763 762 23 Prius V 674 652 728 835 24 Colorado Diesel 594 956 832 750 25 Sonata 535 523 866 762 26 C-Max Energi 523 569 683 705 27 ES Hybrid 508 355 424 636 28 3-Series Plug in 477 307 329 409 29 Clarity BEV 464 34 52 0 30 MKZ 446 405 435 548 31 NX Hybrid 431 190 189 237 32 X5 Diesel 384 257 366 302 33 Rogue Hybrid 361 303 34 Model 3 350 150 120 70 35 Avalon Hybrid 329 375 398 425 36 MDX Hybrid 301 203 239 217 37 Lacrosse Hybrid 300 44 4 5 38 e-Golf 289 203 187 317 39 i3 283 667 538 504 40 Malibu Hybrid 283 300 499 301 41 Pacifica 264 152 450 400 42 Mirai 249 249 184 70 43 Canyon Diesel 241 304 356 304 44 500e 235 240 305 234 45 Sierra Hybrid 222 135 2992 3128 46 Optima Plug In 213 235 228 182 47 Soul EV 207 210 255 300 48 XC90 Plug In 204 174 236 265 49 Range Rover Sport 190 187 268 218 50 Cruze Diesel 188 207 260 268 51 Leaf 175 213 1055 1154 52 3-Series Diesel 149 138 153 148 53 Terrain Diesel 148 64 24 54 Range Rover 145 144 183 135 55 F-Pace 125 109 126 164 56 Focus EV 121 115 131 131 57 7-Series Plug in 120 55 43 39 58 Range Rover Velar 103 84 60 22 59 Countryman Plug In 96 56 80 86 60 Sonata Plug In 91 110 175 200 61 NSX Hybrid 83 87 26 21 62 XC60 Plug In 82 100 97 65 63 XF 68 143 154 42 64 forTwo EV 68 73 123 94 65 XE 54 70 79 117 66 Passat Diesel 46 103 184 135 67 i8 44 33 27 29 68 Q50 Hybrid 43 0 33 25 69 GLE 550e Hybrid 41 8 14 23 70 Cayenne S E-Hybrid 38 73 124 178 71 A3 Plug In 38 17 85 129 72 RLX Hybrid 36 26 18 13 73 S90 Plug In 32 28 74 B-Class Electric 31 59 87 58 75 CT6 29 27 27 23 76 Promaster Van Diesel 26 26 36 46 77 Golf Sportwagon Diesel 25 129 75 129 78 Ioniq EV 23 28 36 66 79 S550 Plug In 22 16 35 32 80 CR-Z 17 18 27 26 81 C350We Plug-in Hybrid 16 49 126 212 82 Beetle Diesel 15 11 19 31 83 LC 500h 9 15 16 15 84 Q7 Diesel 9 0 0 0 85 Jetta Diesel 8 58 45 83 86 CT200h 8 10 91 204 87 A3 Diesel 7 5 9 21 88 Spark 7 0 0 0 89 Golf Diesel 6 28 16 31 90 Panamera S E-Hybrid 5 2 1 1 91 Q70 Hybrid 4 4 5 4 92 GL-Class Diesel 1 3 3 3 93 Civic Hybrid 1 2 2 0 94 ML Class Diesel 1 2 1 2 95 GLE-Class Diesel 1 1 2 0 96 GS 450h 1 0 5 3 97 Tucson 0 3 3 0 98 Jetta Hybrid 0 1 1 6 99 Clarity 0 0 14 57 100 GLK Class Diesel 0 0 3 0 101 XV Crosstrek Hybrid 0 0 3 2 102 E-Class Diesel 0 0 1 1 103 ELR 0 0 0 1 Nice to see Prius on top i3 on sales hold pending seat belt recall Overall sales trend looks down Notice the relative peak in September, an annual trend I'm not sure we're seeing overall sales down as another hypothesis is we don't have one market leader, the Prius, like we used to have. In effect, the total sales of efficient vehicles is the sum of all models which I don't track. Bob Wilson
Big jump in the Camry Hybrid. Will be interesting to see the trend as the remaining 2017 units are sold and the 2018 units gain traction.
As a percentage of all vehicles in Nov 2017: 2.1% - hybrids 0.6% - EVs 0.6% - plug-in hybrids 0.5% - diesels Product announcements are not sales. Granted Model 3 should set records, it remains a promise not yet realize although the S and X are doing well. Bob Wilson
The rav4 and Ford fusion, seems to be neck to neck. Comparing the rav4 and Prius sales, there seems to be a sharp rise in the demand for rav4, after Prius. I'm just wondering what that could be. Dxta
ytd prius is down 31K, but prime is up 18K. fusion, niro, and accord hybrids are up 23K, 25K, and 16K. Thats where prius sales have gone. I expect next year it to get worse with the 2018 camry hybrid and more primes available. My guess is toyota makes a bigger profit on those two cars anyway so that won't bad for toyota. Rav4 has hurt the prius v up 5,400 and down 4,500 ytd.
The auto industry has been rocked by the impressive gains in SUV sales over sedans. It happens with gassers too. Bob Wilson
