I have a 2017 v4. When I put the car in reverse I hear the lovely beeping of HEY, your car is in reverse! The backup camera is on. What I was expecting is, if I get too close to an object back there, I'd hear another kind of beeping and as I continued to get closer, faster beeping, etc. I only hear the beeping of HEY, your car is in reverse. I had my sister stand behind my car while I had it in reverse to test. No warning beeps of approaching cars, people, etc. Can this be how a 2017 model is made? My Ford from 5 years ago had a better backup system than this.
it depends on what options were available. i'm not familiar with the v4 package, but that would not be standard on all toyota or prius models.
