<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(kjb516 @ Jul 5 2006, 11:07 AM) </div> I saw your MPG posting. I live in Gresham. Or. Just got my first gas and had 42 mpg. Not great but ok. I'd be interested in any advice you have to a new owner. Thanks.
Well I got a bit excited today. After 9 days of owning my prius I finally made it past 45. I am now at 48.1 and very happy. Miles are at 180. I think I am off to a good start???

Hope to join you guys soon. Currently at 44.4MPG (see my sig). That was at 1370 miles, hopefully when I fill up tonight I will be in the 45+ club. I hope to beat 50+ in the long run.
Black 2006 Prius #8 purchased 2/8/2006 Total miles: 9993 (just got my 10K mi service today) See my signature for my average mileage. According to GreenHybrid.com I'm right at 48.0 over a total of 28 tanks reported in. http://www.greenhybrid.com/compare/mileage/car/2107.html
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveinOlyWA @ Aug 9 2006, 03:10 PM) </div> I read somewhere that "lifetime cost per mile" is calculated including the total purchase price of the vehicle, all insurance costs, post-sales purchases, maintenance costs, etc. I am thinking you are saying that your total fuel costs divided by mileage is 4.3 cents? "Fuel Cost per mile"?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(KS_prius @ Aug 9 2006, 11:28 AM) </div> yes fuel costs only. i have seen total cost of ownership rated by the purchase price along with maintenance costs, insurance, whatever. but this as advertised cpm (cents per mile) since the car has been purchased, its what it costs to drive it. too many people i talk to have an overblown idea of what their gas mileage is. when i tell them cpm, money is a term they better understand. even the most adament of mileage claimists have a hard time convincing themselves it only costs them $5 a week for gas back to from work (10 miles one way, 5 cpm 10 trips a week)<img>
Hi All 18,400 after a little over 5 months. Avg. MPG is about 42-48 However my MFD restarts after every tank (is there a way to stop this?). I Live on a steeeeeep hill and that is a serious hit for mileage. Edit: I'm averaging 45.9 no fluctuations for the last few weeks... mileage is at 20k after 6 months
summer average of 49.1... just went to cincy and back used only 8 gals round trip...thats a mix of I-75 wild speed and going with US 27 and a normal speed...when i was fueling up back in FWA, and i said 8 gals round trip to cincy and back...the goofus at the next pump said..".duh, howd you do that," while filling up his 1967 F100 rust bucket ...even if i explained it to him...he wouldnt get it...
Odometer reading: 3557 Lifetime calculated MPG: 47.53 Best tank: 75.34 mpg (that had to have been a mistake, like the tank not getting completely filled!) (I lost the receipts from my first 3 fill-ups so can't tell you the exact # of gallons used.)
Well I'm have alifetime of 46.5MPG now. Finally broke the 50 MPG barrier with the last tank, got 52.5MPG. Only have 2585 miles on the Prius now and it seems to be doing better in terms of MPG.
have had my pre-owned classic nearly 4 months now it has over 86k miles on it. just started tracking mileage about 6 weeks ago and since july 17th have driven 2346.2 miles (about 500 of it highway miles) have used (or filled) 45.341 gallons of gas for a calc'd mpg of 51.746
