Do you think Toyota will be updating current TSS-P gen 1 systems as a firmware update? It would be beyond stupid and selfish to have made this a non upgradable component in this car IMO.
I wish they could up date it but I doubt they would. They’re not cool like Tesla (in the sense of having firmware updates), plus I read something about TSS camera being smaller (might be false) and in my opinion, it would probably need a new dash light for the Lane Tracing Assist and maybe Road Sign Assist. I wonder if Road Sign Assist will connect with cruise control?!? Right now the navigation shows speed limit signs but it probably uses the information from the GPS since I have noticed that it does not change exactly when I pass a speed limit sign. It would be nice to have all the features working together to have auto pilot. I love my TSS-P on my 2016 Prius, it prevented a few accidents when cars in front unexpectedly slammed on their brakes. One time I was going about 50ish mph when the red [BRAKE] alert came onto the dash and I literally only tapped the brake pedal and it automatically engaged the brakes at full force! I was not expecting that, but I loved it. And for slower speeds it will not apply the brakes full force if you just tap on the brakes. It adapts to each unique impending situation. I love it, I love it for having a faster reaction than any human reaction and for keeping us all safe.
