Do the dealers use the same data base to determine if I get a free oil change? Reason I ask is that I get my service at another dealer in the same state. Thanks,
All your service records are on the cloud available to all Toyota dealerships. You personally can lookup dealer service records for any Toyota once you register the vin# at my mytoyota.com (nice tool for pre purchase information on a Toyota vehicle)
The Toyota site worked great for a few months, then it died. I haven't be able to get on it for over 9 months.
I just tried to log in and was successful. Try this link https://ssl.toyota.com/owners/login?successPage=%2Fowners%2F
That's the site I was using. I tried again with the same result. I also tried resetting my password and here is what I got. "An error occurred. Please try after sometime!" Yea, I'll get right on that.
I just checked my recommended oil change miles and Toyota care says 5000 miles , so how are you people going 10,000 miles
The Maintenance reminder comes up every 5K (after reset.) 5K maintenance is for tire rotation and "multi-point" check. Every 10K is for tire rotation, "multi-point" check and oil change.
Change mine every time. Usually they have a 10-20$ coupon so it is cheap insurance. Also the new dealer has cameras on the oil change bay so I can see if they removed the filter. However I cannot tell if they put a new one in as it is all hidden in the drain tray. Highly suspect some oil changes did not do the filter as I could still see the oil on the stick. A good oil change you will not be able to see the oil on the stick. Hopefully they will be more honest with people watching.
