Dozens every single day we are out driving. Our child points them ALL out. LOL We got ours in early February 2006 and it seems like there was a big increase in May 2006. Just on our walk home from preschool (about .7 mile each way), we'd often see 2-3 (in motion)! FYI - La Jolla is not exactly the high Prius density area of San Diego.
Ditto. We got ours in October 2002 and think it was the first in our town of 27,000. Today my daughter points them out all the time, long before we can see them coming! I see this as a good thing, which I think everyone else will agree. PriusPaul
at least two per day (mine and my dads both parked in the driveway out front!) depends on how far I drive, usually at least 2-3 others.
I'm so lucky: I usually see none besides my own. It takes a month or so to see another Prius in a 50 Km radius.
I noted in an earlier post that Concord MA ( west of Boston ) is awash in Prii. I can see 10-15 in just a few trips to town ( same 5 driving around?). Its a small town. That we are the suburb of choice for successful grown-up former Cambridge residents is the likely explanation. Anyways, on Saturday we took my daughter and her way out of town college friend on a driving tour of Boston. We probably spent upwards of 2 or 3 hours in the Prius driving around the city, stopping to walk around, drive some more. Did not spot a single Prius during the entire adventure. It was quite remarkable actually. Mileage terrible ( relatively speaking) -4 adults in the car with A/C running continuously on a 85 degree day in the city. Maybe 27 mpg. ICE was always running trying to catch up on A/C depleted battery. Perhaps that's the reason its not a preferred city car?

On average, I see about one every block. We always try to find the "prius of the block." My prius used to be the only prius on the block, but of late, a white one has joined.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(MarinJohn @ Jul 4 2006, 11:37 AM) </div> Good idea and I did. Interesting thoughts about it. None seemed as bad as mine that day but there were ideas that will help in the future. Thanks for the tip.
During the school year we regularily saw one at the nearby University.....that was it on a regular basis, but today, we drove by a black one a few blocks from home, and passed another silver one parked in a driveway also a few blocks from home. My poor, sweet hubby who doesn't even think to wave at a Prius driver, knew just what to do......went to a safe corner, pulled a u-turn, and drove back to that house so I could go talk with the owners. Beautiful car, very different silver from the '05. Anyway, from a rare sight around here to 2 in our neighborhood in one afternoon, a nice change.
They are becoming fairly piopular in Toronto now. I usually see between 3 and 8 in a short commute. Im sure if i was really looking, i would find mroe. (im talking 04-06 models). As for the first gen's... I might see one every few weeks. They are much less pronounced though. I see an insight once a month. When i went to buy my car I saw a record of 8 prius, one highlander (first one I had ever seen) hybrid and an escape hybrid. I think it was a sign!
I usually go weeks, sometimes months at time without seeing one. But today, saw two on the road besides my own-- one blue one and a silver. This was on a trip to get my car its 10,000 mile checkup. At the dealership (Neil-Sandler) they had a Barcelona Red on the lot for 28,000 package 7. It was a beauty.
Drove Saturday from Trenton NJ to New Milford CT. 0 seen from Trenton to Danbury, CT. 2 seen in Danbury, 0 seen from Danbury to New Milford. 1 seen Sunday around Kent, CT a silver pine... 0 seen my the way back from New Milford to Trenton BTW see one regularly at the Linden train station and one at Lincoln interlocking .....
I drove about 1500 miles last week, from Rockville, MD to Brunswick Georgia, and back via Charleston, SC. I think I saw a total of THREE. One was on the highway on the trip down and it stopped at the same rest stop that I stopped at. I asked the family driving it how they liked it -- he said it was a rental, but he liked it so far.
I usually see 8-10 a day driving to work. There are also about 12 Prii in the parking lots at the college I work at. In addition, I see one 1st Gen. a week.
Its reached the point where I'm surprised if there is not a Prius in my field of view. To make it challanging I look for the Civic Hybrids. I see a couple of those a week...of course I have to be close enough to see the 'badge'. Have'nt seen a Camry Hybrid yet.
Some of us couldn't make the meet in Chicago.... saw one on 287 ahead of me.... then when I stopped at the Quickcheck in Raritan... double vision![attachmentid=4176]
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(lazarus @ Apr 19 2005, 10:23 AM) </div> You've forgotten to enter your location into PriusChat. Just a county will do.
I went back home to San Diego this past weekend and I can't believe how many I saw driving all around and I think that almost 90% were tagged up with the HOV stickers! It was great! My girlfriend and I were actually really surpised at how many were started noticing. I guess the whole thing of being conscience of the Prius on the road. Coming back to Fort Lauderdale, there really aren't as many as there are in SoCal. Anyone around wanna grab some coffee?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(john1701a @ Nov 18 2004, 11:18 PM) </div> About one a month - but I don't drive much. On an 80 mile trip to the south coast the other day I stopped at a car park in Southampton and as I went in an identical one to mine came out. That was the only one in a total of 160 miles. Yesterday I drove 44 miles across the Chiltern Hills on crowded roads and didn't see one.
