I've been using the default DRCC since day one and was always disappointed that you cannot set it or maintain speeds below 28 mph. Today I was experimenting and shut off the Radar part of the cruise and used the Constant Speed mode.To my surprise, I was able to set it at 25 mph! Woo Hoo! I was also able to use the decelerate motion to slow it down and effectively set it even lower than 25 mpg. Problem solved. I know @Amy In Wyoming will enjoy this. To set the Constant Speed mode, p.401 in the Prime owners manual. Press and hold in the Cruise On/Off button for 1.5 seconds or more to deactivate the radar controlled vehicle-to-vehicle distance mode.
Yes same here, it has to be on constant (not dynamic) control. I suppose if you're sending a message to tailgaters that there is a serious concern for the speed limit, this can be done at 25 mph.
Read the thread that discusses the errors in the actual speed listed on the speedometer and you may find out your 28 mph is closer to 25 mph than you think Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I wish I could set it to 20 for school zones. It's easy to forget you're in one, especially if there's a light in the middle, and just accelerate like normal up to, say, 40 and be 20 over!
Ours are 25 mph, but some are a mile long, thus me wanting cruise to work 25 mph. I was able to tap it down to 22 mph with cruise on.
IF it is like the Gen 4 I believe there is a menu option to turn off DRCC so it is in Constant Speed mode without needing to hold down the button.
In Harvard ma, on the road near the school has a blinking sign that says, speed limit 20 mph when flashing. There is a sign just before it that states the speed limit is 20 mph. (so it's 20 mph flashing or not) So many getting bagged for speeding when the light isn't flashing.
