Not real happy with stock blades. Leaves streaks. Bought right size Goodyear hybrid at Costco. But it seems the push button adapter will not work. Toyota has always used J hook before. So now they switch to push button but apparently some non standard version. Checked Rain-x, Bosch, Goodyear sites. Nobody lists 2016 Prius. Guess we can't change them yet ? :-(
Live in So Cal where it never rains, but in May and June always dew on the windshield in the morning but that will be ending very soon so I am good for a few months. I did not specifically ask but was hoping somebody already found some decent ones that fit and would say hey get these. But I will ask as you suggested. Was a little disappointed to see they "created" a new standard.
agreed. i don't like it when companies keep changing to proprietary products to try to get you into the dealer. toyota builds a great car, but is very difficult to deal with.
Has anyone found suitable replacements since this thread started? My head is spinning trying to find blades that are compatible with my 2016 without going to the dealership.
If the blades are still serviceable, it’s less costly (and produces less waste) to replace only the rubber inserts. For the left and right inserts, the total list price is $16.10, and the installation instructions are in the Owner’s Manual. If you need new blades, the Toyota ones (front, rear) are not expensive, but TRICO Products now claims to have compatible replacements, their 28-17B (left), 16-17B (right), and 16-A (rear). At this writing, Walmart.com has them for $13.99, $10.76, and $9.40, respectively. I haven’t tried any of these.
