Looks like finally there is an option to update the crappy 4th gen headunit with a real android unit. I wasn't able to find more information about it, but looks like it is installed enabling the AV input, and original headunit system can be used at the same time. It doesn't have top of the line specs, or even a recent android version, but at least it looks like there is an option. I'm going to say that that unit has a lot of additional antennas/inputs which makes me think it is a full on replacement. Not sure how well it would integrate the existing backup camera or steering wheel inputs. I'm not brave enough to drop the money to test it out, but I would like to know the results if someone does. Its killing me I can't do android auto when my coworkers base model GMC Sierra has both android auto and apple carplay built in!
