Anyone using a cellphone holder mounted on the dash or windshield of the Gen 4 Prius? Any recommendations?
I've tried a few, but if finally settled on a 6" X 3" sticky rubber mat stuck to the side of the central screen border and my phone sticks to that. Have to say it holds really well and after 6 months have not needed to dismount it to wash in warm water to reactive the non-glue adhesion. I bought it (£0.99) in a UK economy store, (B&M I think) but they're sure to be similar around USA or Amazon. The only challenge to the system is avoiding selecting the radio On/Off when mounting or removing the phone from the pad.
There's a thread about it here... Best phone mount | PriusChat I also got this holder that slots into the CD holder and seems to be working well.
Hands down, the iRing is the best thing out there. It comes with a little clip that attaches to you dash. it's perfect for holding your phone securely in your hand or attaching it to your dashboard. Very secure and looks amazing...
I use a mount that clips into the CD slot. A small piece of metal in my phone case allows magnetic attachment. Fullsizeoutput_9135 by wgary posted Oct 8, 2017 at 9:12 PM
Yeah, but the cord hangs down right across the front of your instrument panel. Looks bad. Check out the iRing photos that I posted above... A much better solution with awesome cord-routing capability. Plus it's only $15.
You would think by now the car manufacturers would have a cell phone solution come standard in new cars. Kind of like cup holders, would you even buy a car without cupholders. Lol
